Position Summary
The Marketing and Communications Coordinator helps to craft and implement the strategic messaging of the Downtown Boulder Partnership (DBP) and sister organizations through the development of consumer marketing and communication campaigns that support DBP’s mission and operating plan. The Marketing and Communications Coordinator reports to the Vice President of Marketing and Communications and oversees the Marketing Intern position.
Candidate should possess the following qualities:

Thrive in a fast-paced environment with many projects and overlapping deadlines
Extremely detail-oriented and self-motivated
Tech / digital media savvy
Willingness to learn and always pitch in wherever and whenever needed (occasional nights and weekend event work required)Essential Responsibilities
Maintain consistency of DBP’s brand voice and messaging across all marketing channels
Create and manage the social media editorial calendar for consumer-facing programs
Oversee and manage Downtown Boulder’s social media accounts (Instagram, Facebook, X, TikTok, Pinterest, Snapchat) including content creation and audience engagement strategies
Recruit, hire, and supervise the Marketing & Communications Intern (semester basis)
Manage daily content updates and maintenance of BoulderDowntown.com using Citylight CMS
Design and send e-newsletters including:
Weekly: Foodie Friday
Bi-weekly: Consumer Newsletter
Monthly: Event, Parking, Lodging, Employment and Retail Newsletters (via Constant Contact)
Gather information and write weekly Foodie Friday blog posts
Track and report website and social media analytics monthly
Lead logistics and content for ongoing Business Spotlights
Update and manage the Visitor Information Center digital display
Assist in writing, editing, and fact-checking communication materials
Collaborate with the membership team to maintain accurate contact databases
Distribute Downtown Boulder Guidebook weekly (print & digital)
Support DBP events team during event execution, sometimes outside standard work hours
Attend and take monthly marketing committee meeting minutes, as well as minutes for monthly board of directors meetings
Maintain an advertising traffic sheet to ensure all materials are delivered on deadline
Collaborate with graphic designer on print and digital collateral
Maintain an internal “How-To” marketing guidebook for this position
Contribute to the production of monthly marketing reports for board presentations
Additional roles / responsibilities as assigned by the VP of MarketingPreferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, public relations, journalism, or related field
Strong knowledge of established and emerging social media platforms
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Proficiency in AP style
Basic knowledge of graphic design (Adobe Creative Suite, especially Photoshop, preferred)
Understanding of HTML, CMS platforms (e.g., Geocentric Citylight), and CRM systems
Strong organizational, time management, and customer service skills
Familiarity with downtown Boulder’s shops, restaurants, and events
Entrepreneurial problem-solving approach and ability to work independently
Bonus: Familiarity with AI-powered tools for marketing, writing, and content creation (e.g., ChatGPT, GrammarlyGO, Canva)
Bonus: Basic photography/video capture and editing skills
Salary Range: $56-58K annually (based on qualifications and experience)This is a hybrid position with three days in-person requirements and work from home flexibility.
